Endowments & Research Funds
With a goal of providing stable, long-term financial resources for the Foundation as well as funding for specific areas or research, Endowment Funds have been established by individuals and organizations. An Endowment Fund is also a way to leave a legacy or to honor someone. Grants and Scholarships made possible through Endowment & Research Funds provide funding for the Foundation’s critical priorities.
Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Human Performance Endowment Fund
This fund was created to investigate research topics related to the physical therapy management of cardiovascular and pulmonary disorders, including prevention, fitness and health promotion. Funding of the Scot C. Irwin, PT, DPT, CCS, doctoral scholarship will go towards the Cardio fund.
Education Endowment Fund
This fund was created to allow for research in physical therapy education and for developing a new generation of physical therapy practitioners.
Neurology Endowment Fund
This fund supports post-professional doctoral scholarships honoring physical therapists, Marylou Barnes, PT, FAPTA and Patricia Leahy, PT.
Orthopaedic Section Endowment
Established to fund research that will supply the best evidence to enhance the diagnosis, management and prevention of musculoskeletal conditions.
Pediatric Fund Endowment
The Pediatric Fund was established to allow for the evaluation of physical therapist interventions for children.
Section on Women’s Health Fund
This fund was established to facilitate the research and evaluation of physical therapist interventions for women.
The Academy of Geriatrics Fund
This fund was established to facilitate the research and evaluation of physical therapist interventions for older adults.
This fund was established in recognition of the need for clinical research relating to those services most commonly delivered by physical therapists, as determined by current practice patterns, and the development of innovative interventions that offer reasonable assurance that they will be therapeutically effective.
The Deusinger Family Endowment Fund
This fund will support, in perpetuity, the most pressing needs of the Foundation as defined by its mission and trustees.The Deusinger family urge you to follow their lead by donating as generously as you can to help support physical therapy research.
The Jayne L Snyder Endowment
This fund was created to support the development of new interventions that will be clinically relevant and therapeutically effective.
The Marilyn Moffat Endowment Fund
This endowment for Geriatric Research will fund, in perpetuity, research designed to specifically advance knowledge of physical therapy for older adults.
